Council holds conference on “NGO-Mass Media relations: new requirements and cooperation models”

Next meeting of the Council on State Support to Non-Governmental Organizations under the auspices of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan was held today. Deputy Chairman of the Council Vusal Guliyev opened the meeting and drew the attention to the issue of grant competition on participation of NGOs in “Extractive Industries Transparency”. The agenda was unanimously approved.

Vusal Guliyev said that state strategy, which is implemented successfully and continuously in the field of strengthening transparency and accountability, fight against corruption, exists in our country. Deputy Chairman of the Council stated that the establishment of the Commission on Extractive Industries Transparency on April 5, 2017 with the order of the President Ilham Aliyev showed once again that Azerbaijan supports international initiatives on transparency and accountability in extractive industries and is capable of continuing to successfully apply respective standards. From this point of view, close participation of civil society institutions in Extractive Industries Transparency is important.

Executive director of the Secretariat of the Council Farasat Gurbanov gave detailed information about terms and conditions of the grant competition on participation of NGOs in “Extractive Industries Transparency” in accordance with the Regulation of the Council.

Members of the Council Sahib Mammadov, Rufiz Gonagov, Anar Khalilov and Nargiz Khalaf made their suggestions regarding the topics, terms and conditions of the grant competition.

 

After the discussions, decision was made on grant competition on participation of NGOs in “Extractive Industries Transparency”. NGOs can get information about the topics, terms and conditions of the competition on websites of the Council www.qhtxeber.az, www.e-qht and www.cssn.gov.az.
