The Council held a regional conference on NGO-government relations in Shirvan

The Council of State Support to Non-Governmental Organizations under the Auspices of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan with the participation of non-governmental organizations, operating in Saatli, Sabirabad, Imishli, Hajigabul, Salyan, Neftchala, Jalilabad, Bilasuvar, Masalli and Lankaran and local executive authorities in Shirvan on September 27, 2017, A regional conference on "NGO-Government relations: gained experience and opportunities for new cooperation" was held. Speaking at the meeting, Adem Huseynov, Deputy Director of the Shirvan City Executive Power Executive Office, spoke about the role played by NGOs in the overall development of civil society and initiatives and noted that the achieved successes were the result of a consistent state policy. The official of the socio-political issues department of the Administration of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Deputy Chairman of the Council, Vusal Guliyev noted that the government is interested in expanding the activity of civil society institutions and increasing the effectiveness of their activities, and fertile environment is created. It was noted that over the last decade, the NGO-state cooperation has risen to a higher level. According to the decree of the President Ilham Aliyev on the approval of the "Concept of State Support to Non-Governmental Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan" and establishment of the Council on State Support to Non-Governmental Organizations under the Auspices of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan gave a significant impetus to the development of civil society in our country. The policy pursued by the President in this direction has created the favorable ground for the development of civil society in Azerbaijan, the improvement of the relevant legislative base, the creation of different organizations, etc.
